“Ants” – Framed Original Painting by Jennifer Irving

Ants came from thinking about movement and the way things can feel chaotic up close but somehow make sense when you step back.

The shapes overlap, repeat, and move through one another, almost like everything is following its own little path. There’s a lot happening, but there’s still an order to it. The colour keeps your eye moving around the painting, finding new shapes and connections each time you look at it.

I called it Ants because it reminds me of watching ants move—busy, unpredictable and seemingly random, but all part of something much more organized.
